A 358-mile journey from New York City to the foothills of the Adirondacks — one section at a time
The Long Path begins in New York City — at the A train 175th Street subway station — and runs north for 358 miles to the foothills of the Adirondacks.

From a 1930s vision of an unmarked route to today’s evolving trail, the Long Path has always been a work in progress. This overview traces how it came to be and what makes it different from other long-distance hikes.
